In both cases we have women who appear to have had serious mental issues, the problem is that if you have one your brain is playing tricks on you. I believe that the statement quoted by Stern about Anna Nicole saying she "wanted to be buried with Daniel" was figurative at the time of the Daniel's funeral rather than a literal statement made about the future. Many times when a loved one dies people say they want to die and be buried with them right then because the grief is so unbearable. Also, if Stern is such a sharp attorney, why didn't he draw up a new will immediately after the baby's birth and Daniel's death. He's had plenty of time and he is supposed to have been protecting Anna Nicole and her assets. Hmmmm.

I wish you would stop portraying methadone in such a bad light.

Methadone is a TREATMENT PROGRAM that is vital for people that are serious about stopping drug dependency. Yes, primarily addicts use it and Yes, it is sometimes abused. But so is the majority of other Perscribed medications (pills). The vast majority of people on the program do not abuse it and many have said that it has saved thier lives.

For those people who are SERIOUS about stopping drug use it is a very effective means for accomplishing thier goal. By you singeling out one person who may or may not have abused this drug, you will accomplish nothing but shedding a bad light on it and making it more difficult for people to have access to this treatment. What you should be focusing on is the NEW DRUG EPIDEMIC that has swept the nations suburbs. It includes both abusing perscription pills and the exponential increase in Herion use. I don't know how or why it has happened, but currently Herion is no longer in the gutter but is the upscale, new fad. Last week I went to an classy resturant in a very good part of town and at least half of the wait staff had tract marks. And these were not trashy looking people, they were the sons & daughters of white collar parents. Whats worse is that Herion use is so common that these young adults obviously felt no shame in keeping their tract marks exposed (short sleved shirts). In the very near future our society will have a great demand for Methondone Treatment Centers to treat our current 18-24 year olds. Also note that Methadone is used for all sorts of drug dependence including Pain Pill (opiates).

You also need to do your reasearch concerning Methadone and Preganancy. It is considered safe to use during pregnancy if perscribed and monitored by a qualified doctor to coincide with a treatment program. If a woman started using Methadone before conception she must stay on it or else face an almost certain miscarriage. What would you rather have; a pregnant woman buying street drugs to avoid withdraw or a pregnant woman realizing she has a problem and is seeking treatment?

I hope you can understand that like it or not, when addicts decide to stop using drugs and straighten up thier lives, they need treatment centers availiable to them.

This is such a terrible mess regarding the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Her poor little baby deserves better. It's doubtful that any of the people involved can really be trusted. It appears that Larry Birkhead is most likely the father. For whatever reason, Anna Nicole went to great lengths to prevent DNA tests to prove paternity. I don't know the outcome of this terrible soap opera but my prayers are with little Dannielynn.

So much confusion and discussion and debate is being brought into question all concerning Anna Nicole's burial and HER wishes...
1. Yes she should be buried. She is (was) a human being with flesh and bloos which is now, frankly, rotting. She bought a plot in the bahamas next to her son, and that is where she should be buried...
2. Concerning the child...perhaps Anna wished her child to stay with Howard Stern...this is speculation, backed with no support coming from Anna Nicole's actions in the past. The child is just that, an infant child. She should not be subjected to a lifestyle not fit for her in which to be raised. This same scenario/position holds true to the Britney Spears case. Her SHOULD be the focus point to the entire cover story, however it unfortunately is not. The main topic is that of her new hair-cut and her obvious descent in the public's eye. The court, in both cases, should definately look into this particular situation because it directly inpacts the future of another human being. If place with the wrong person, this child could grow up to be mentally troubled, and possibly a threat to society...
3. Reguarding the public's obsession with the media's STARS...I would like to completely agree with what Mark from Illinois had to say, it is obvious we are ALL completely obsessed due to the simple fact that we are wasting our precious time reading this discussion and commenting on the topics proposed, when we could be doing something much more beneficial to ourselves and our society.

If we (being predominately Americans) took as much of our time discussing major world health/war problems, as we do discussing celebrities and their new harcuts, many of the issues in the world could be resolved. Granted many of the wounds inflicted onto countries from opposing countries are quite deep, many of the small issues would and could be resolved if we simple applied as much effort to world peace as we do to celebrity lifestyles.

If the public wasn't out there to lap up every morsel the media is willing to serve up, the frenzy wouldn't exist. Face it, we live in a celebrity obsessed society where some of us seem more interested in what Britney is doing than what's going on with our friends and family. A sad state of affairs, that's for sure.

I clicked through this story just to leave a comment. Which came first: America's obsession with immature twits or the media's? I know several people have made the statement "The media wouldn't cover it if people didn't read it" but when fully 30% of the headlines on a site are about one story, you're bound to get a higher rate of readers. Eventually people who are more interested in news will give in and read the not-news. If reporters put a tenth of the effort into making stories that matter accessible to readers, I'm willing to bet there would be a higher rate of people reading real news.

OK. So you think we are addicted to the media circus that is all Celebrities lives? And that we are to blame because we crave this as much as the media makers themselves. How about this for a change, why did we really start watching these shows and caring about all of this. Because when John F Kennedy dies everyone wanted answers. When Elvis died everyone had a theory as to why. And so the media ran with it and now everytime a celeb does something stupid, something embarrassing, or dies, they think it should be front page news. How about you try for one week putting all celebrities on the back page and only talk about real issues on the news. We would have educated children and adults finally understanding why we are at war in Iraq and why Libby is on trial and maybe Emeril can show us a great recipe or Discovery channel can explain how after all these years we no longer consider Mars a planet because they think its to small. Well, we all know this would never happen because the economy would fall into a decline. Tabloids would go bankrupt, movie and television ratings would drop and actors and actresses would be off the A list and just be normal people. To the person who felt the soldiers in Iraq aren't getting the media attention because of Anna Nicole or the people obsessed with them...
maybe a question to ask is why people in general from other countries don't obssess over their celebrities or the private and intimate lives of their leaders? Why is the U.S. over in Iraq when its got plenty of its own problems to take care of? yes, its quite ridiculous to spend time rehashing the private lives of a celebrity. Whoever said that the celebrity is to blame because they opened the door to the spolight is part of the problem. There are plenty of celebrities who lead quiet lives...the media, papparazzi to blame...it is their job to invoke the intrusion. and yes, sometimes one can only be a celebrity if their private lives become public. Its an american obession to get celebrity status and an american obession to poke at those that fall from it.
Isn't the american public's curiosity and need to judge, tar and feather so to speak telling? Why does the Jerry Springer show exist? Because there is a need, however destructive. Maybe the U.S. should think about its maturity level in comparison to the world and focus on
the result of its biggest commodity, Hollywood. Yes, Hollywood pales
in comparison to a war, but it was the U.S's decision to go to war. And death and destruction are part of that. My concern is why doesn't the U.S. start taking care of its own. I am fascinated by the anna nicole story because I'm a truth seeker, understand why people do the things they do, to understand myself.

The bottom line is, if no one bought the magazines, if no one watched the gossip shows, if no one clicked on the story links... then there would be no tabloids and gossip shows and story links.

Every single one of us that hopped into this article, and made a comment, contributes to the media coverage.

So every single person in this comment section who claims, "Gosh people, get a life, who cares?" obviously you do, because you clicked on the story link.

I'm guilty of it, even though it irritates the daylights out of me that I'm guilty of it!

I think that Britney needs help, and I think Anna Nicole needs to be buried. I think Dannielynn needs to live with her biological father, if he wants her. Someone above said "Biology does not a parent make" (or something to that effect). Yes, that is true, but if that biological parent is suitable and willing, there is absolutely no substitute.

I disagree. There is little to debate when discussing celebrities, but it opens a whole 'nother can of worms to discuss something with substance. Everyone has different opinions and personal experiences about serious problems that affect our world and our country. Being a dietitian, I'm especially opinionated about Americans' health and weight. But believe me, few would listen to what I have to say, and little would change when all the ranting and raving is over.

For everyone that is bashing the site for stating that they don't care about what happens in the media, I have to pose the question of "really, cause you clicked on the link?" YOU posted YOUR comment, after reading even a bit of the story, in turn you are negatively reinforcing the media to continue to run these stories, as you are giving them mini-sweeps through the whole celebrity drama whosits. Now me personally, hell ya I care what happens, adn am fine with Dateline representing it. I know that half of all that it written is propaganda or gossip, I'm not gonna deny it, It gets me out of myself and horrid to say but better them than I. Plus, it does shed some information on the psychosis and addictions of todays society, which most people will never face as their glass house won't shatter. It's individuals that have the largest problems with denial or were negatively effected (a little PTSD maybe?) that can't handle the hype. Again, celebrities make their lives public, and we pay for it, everyone has a bad hair day/ year. Thanks Dateline, I watch alot of your segments and they're honest news, I appreciate this stuff.

Its good to read so many intelligent thoughts on this discussion...but, alas, there are still those that must refer to celebrities as whores. Come on, must we resort to that. For young and powerful country as the U.S. is, isn't it a bit sexually repressed...remember the Janet Jackson boob thing? With responses that can be likened to a child's. Parents concerned about their child being exposed to a BOOB? I was not born with clothes on, must I live in shame should my boob peek out?
European countries for instance show naked women on television, the front cover of daily newspapers...have nude beaches and nude co-ed spas as the norm ..not trash.
I'm not siding with Anna's lifestyle or choices, certainly not mine. The need to change one's body into an exaggerated one to get noticed, famous most often happens here in the U.S. Most likely a result of the puritanical dynamic that goes at length to hide the body, what is natural from the public, in an effort to be moral?
There are plenty of women who don't wear any underwear, but not enough photographers to snap a shot of it. Spinning info. RE: Britney, out of context is an intrusion on her life and criminal. And if a celebrity purposefully exposes themselves I can imagine it may be rooted in this repression. And who cares in light of greater world issues? Well apparently alot.

My opinion is that the only comparison between these two women is that they both made choices which ultimately caused their demise. However, my sympathy goes out to Anna. Her problems must have started in early childhood. I can't imagine being raised by a mother who would rather allow her daughters body to decompose rather than be buried next to her (Anna) child. As for Britney being a "sick little girl" as her father claims, I'm not buying it. The umbrella episode looked like a temper tantrum, not a breakdown. While by her own hand she hit bottom, what better way to gain public sympathy than to use the insanity plea. The problem, as I see it, is that Britney isn't smart enough to carry it off. I think she shaved her head in an attempt to find her lost tiara. I hope while in therapy somebody explains phantom feeling to her.

Are we fascinated because they failed or do we read because we are no different from those girls and our lives have mirrored theirs in some small way at one point?
Yes, they are in the public eye on a global scale....what about the neighbour who has three children by three different men or aunt wilma who committed suicide before you were born. My grandmother killed herself with a shot to head years before I was born....it was nevered talked about back then....can this sort of tragety happene to any family..YES and more than anyone ever wants to admit.
Ms. Smith and Spears should not be burnt at the stake for their mistakes...yes they both have addictions...but to some extent we all do. Prescription drug addictions are on the rise...and yes I am speaking from experience....humans tend to go from one addiction to the next...be it food, exercise, sex, alcohol, precriptions, illegal drugs. We have all been there or know someone.
Why are we critizing these two people on how they conduct their lives? Do we see a part of us in them? Are we scared..?..fascinated..?..or just on top of the heap with no sins..no faults...the perfect..the chosen to judge those who have lost their way?
Please don't judge until you have walked a mile in their shoes or your neighbors shoes....you should be feeling so sad for these two girls...not their families, not their futures, but who they are at this very moment in time.....they are both lost souls and do you know how scary that feels even when you have the world at your fingertips. No matter what you are told that feeling won't go away....and yes, you try anything to make it go away. Try to commit suicide...yes.
Reach out, don't judge. Don't blame the media or society, money, no money. Don't judge....because when this happens to you or someone you know this harshness is gone and you will understand. Don't judge Anna Nicole, Britany, their family, friends and loved ones until you have walked a mile in each of their shoes.

All in all, I just believe the obssesion and compulsive behaviors of our media and the people who don't accept reality have driven two great people into making extraordinary decisions in their lives. It comes to show how ridiculous it is to expect so much from such people and ask them to mold their own lives to our own unethical advantages. They may have chosen this road of 'sold privacy', but it's not fair for the world to hover over their shoulders and assume information about every supposed dilemma in their lives. The majority of the media and world of celebrities have become so overrated, so unvaluable. Why do we keep on suggesting what both Anna and Britney were thinking? We will never really know until we ask them, and we may get some information from credible people, but we can't make assumptions becuase information isn't entirely credible these days, considering how much ommitance and manipulative speaking there is now. "Is Tyra Fat?", "Is Angelina Anorexic?" -My question is, why question these things - is it going to get us any 'skinnier'?. I can't blame Britney Spears and Anna Nicole for their actions, and you might call me crazy, but, Hey, they're both human, and so much pressure is or was put onto them. Anna Nicole never did anything bad to the world, (her profession may have gone against many moral beliefs, although it was never through bad intentions) and I have seen many people who were happy when she died. Britney was a unique face with a valuable talent, and maybe she doesn't even remember or misses who she really used to be. Look closely into the two controversial events, and realize the wake up call that says that there is a loss of control in celebrity gossip and it really is affecting potentially amazing people in the world.

I know that people believe celebrities opened some kind of door to the public when they attain fame. I disagree.

I know I am a fan of musicians, artists and movies. I really don't believe that Britney thought the day she signed her record contract "I can't wait until I can't go to the grocery store because I am so famous."

Anna Nicole was a troubled person, yes, but why do we care? She married some old guy and got his money!It's none of my business!

You see it everyday in the tabloids or some gossip magazine - who's doing what and where. I think people should start being recognized for their awesome movie or amazing voice and leave it at that, not how many times they've been married or how drunk they got on a Tuesday.

I don't believe it is the media's fault either. If people are more interested about the soldier's dying in Iraq, then don't click the link regarding Britney or Anna or Paris Hilton.

Ratings and magazine sales are a result of public interest, not the reporter or the photographer. If you don't like it don't read it.

It's supply and demand, if we want it, there will always be somebody there to give it to us. If we as a society stop feeding this beast, it will die.

While Britney Spears and Nicole were never reported upon in the same breath until Britney decided to act loco, a comparison can be made in that both were attention / media whores. As they say "what comes around goes around". In case it has been forgotten by our illustrious stars out there...The word of the day is KARMA.
So, here is what I think...I believe Britney is acting like a jackass just to have something (anything) mentioned in the media because her life in the eyes of the public is a disaster...and a bore.She could be acting a fool because there is no reason that is interesting enough to mention her stupid a**; so why not act as a moron, that way at least something will be put in the media just to remind people that she still exists - despite the fact that the vast majority of the population doesn't give a sh**!
Next,I agree that the 'judge' should never have presided over the case of Anna Nicole (talk about a conflict of interest!!!). Again,this just shows what a joke our justice system really is.
I find it insane that anyone (justice system or otherswise) could manage to put a hold on a body for 13 days while people argue like children over where to bury the body...its disgusting, not to mention disturbing. I don't think any family's wish would be to see a decomposing member of their family at their funeral as they try to say 'goodbye', and deal with the overwhelming grief of losing a loved one.
I must admit that I was stunned at the news of Anna Nicole's untimely death, however; she certainly doesn't deserve this media circus, I mean good grief to what point is this crap going to end??? Let the woman and the family have some privacy so they may grieve like normal people (if their is such a thing).
She was never really famous in the first place...the only thing that sets her apart from the dark side of society (such as drug addiction) is that she was paid to be an addict and paid for being stoned out of her mind in the view of the public. I for one have to say that it is almost impossible to fathom-but since we've been bombarded with crap, crap and even more crap about Anna Nicole...we've no choice but to hear about it and the public made her very wealthy for doing nothing (as did her late husband). I'm thinking she wasn't as dumb as she was portrayed...hmmm...things that make you go hmmmm.
Finally, I find it extraordinarly sad when our entire nation is focused on this ordeal...as someone mentioned earlier, our nation is falling apart and all you see on the news channels are the same sh** about Anna Nicole and Brittney. What the he**? This is a sad, sad day that we all live in...with no relief in sight. We can only sit down, hold on and hope for the best.
The catch phrase "Like my body?", takes on a whole new meaning now doesn't it? God, help us all.

I so agreee with MSI from Arizona. Few people have mentioned that for whatever the reason, Anna Nicole did not want to be with Larry Birkhead and chose (Yes, CHOSE)- she was an adult who made her own choices-- to be with Howard Stern, doing the commitment cermony and acting like a couple. She obviously wanted him to act as father to her daughter. I think he gets a bad rap, and I don't think there's anything he could do for the public to prove he cared about Anna. Also, it is amazing to me that people seem to want to assign blame to everyone around the substance abuser but not to the person abusing drugs or alcohol. Anyone who has been involved with an addict or 12 step program knows that responsibility for substance abuse rests squarely on the shoulders of the user, and no one else. You can't control an alcoholic or drug abuser. Who knows who tried to help and how? Most people just don't know how to deal with it. I have great empathy for Anna Nicole, but I think her substance abuse was her fault, NO ONE elses. And if you DO need to assign blame, take a look at that selfish so-called mother who doesn't give a damn what Anna so clearly wanted. She's probably the biggest culprit in terms of why Anna had issues.

The baby should stay with Howard; Anna's actions before her death show that's what she intended + look at Anna's mother to determine whether the biological parent should always have rights. Who would want to be raised by that?

Two days before Anna Nicole was found dead I had this dream:
Before her death I knew little about her and her sagas. I analyze my dreams often, but this one seemed to have nothing to do with my wishes, fears etc.
If anyone has any feedback on the dream's meaning please let me know.
I was not in the dream, rather I watched the following happen:

The Dream:
There was a man and woman having an argument.
They were in a big room, looked like an office on the 47th floor of a tall building. The woman was on the left, had very long black hair with bangs, wore jeans, was slightly plump but curvaceous.
The man was on the right, small to medium build, had light brown wavy hair and wore a suit that wasn't very stylish.
The woman yelled at him in the argument: "Go ahead and do it"

The man was holding onto a young boy approx. 13-17 yrs. old behind his back so the woman could not see. He then threw the boy out an open window (a large picture window). After a few seconds I heard a sound that meant he hit the ground and was dead. The man was now holding on to an infant girl behind his back. End of dream.

Two days later, when I heard Anna nicole was dead, I began reading the net to get up to speed and felt a connection to the dream. Even if the dream wasn't prophetic I figured I'd use it as a modal to try to figure out what was going on.

At first I took it literally that the man in the suit killed the boy and was holding on to the girl for some kind of leverage. After much thought I came up with this:
1. A secret was exposed, the woman was found out by the man and either felt threatened by him or he did threaten her in some way.
2. If this was a prophetic dream why didn't it look like Anna Nicole and one of her men?
Ans: It could be a metaphor that things aren't what they seem, people aren't who they appear to be.
3. The boy thrown out the window is also a metaphor. The man may have wanted to get the boy out of "the picture". But the boy kept "falling" until he finally hit rock bottom and died. Which is way he held on to the girl behind his back out of the woman's sight.
Whatever the man did to get him out of the picture may have led to his death, although may not have been his intention.
4. The man is seen holding an infant girl tightly behind his back while he faces the woman.
It could mean that he will do anything to keep the girl away from her mother. The mother doesn't know that he got the boy out of the picture and plans to keep the girl behind his back.
Or it could mean that the man has power over the woman now that he knows her "secret" and may be planning something.

Or the dream is about me and I just haven't figured it out yet...
Any feedback?

Now, with her pantiless pictures on the web, her temper tantrum with the umbrella and her bald head broadcast for the world to see, it's all in her face. She had no choice but to play it crazy. Nothing new, she's merely blaming it for her actions. As far as Anna, she's gone and I think her story needs to be put to rest at least by the media. She can't defend herself now. Perhaps Britney could blame Anna, at least it wouldn't be a 'she said - she said' comedy routine.

I vote with everyone who says "Who cares?" about these women (Anna Nicole, Britney, Paris, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, etc.) whose personal lives and spats are covered by just about every gossip columnist and "entertainment journalist" in this country. These young women got discovered on Disney, in Playboy, through various TV talent shows, and now they're going out, getting drunk, getting high, going into rehab, and not really paying their own way. When was the last time we saw Paris Hilton in anything other than "The Simple Life" with Nicole Richie? What has Lindsay Lohan done, since her last movie? Hillary Duff has had some fun TV series and a couple of movies, but what else is she doing? Their lives seem to be a string of high-profile DUIs, going into rehab, and coming out, without learning anything about themselves or how their actions might affect either themselves, their careers, or other people. I hope it won't take a drunk driving accident (such as Brandy's) and the death of the other driver or passengers, to get them thinking about the hazards of getting drunk or high, and then getting behind the wheel of their or a friend's car. Perhaps they need either a designated driver or a chauffeur on hand the next time they decide to go out to a party. With the rest of our country's drunk drivers, a DUI usually means a suspended or revoked license, and lots of "barriers" between a drunk driver and his or her car, such as a breathalyzer installed in the car(so the car won't start without a breath test), an electronic ankle bracelet/monitor, and time behind bars. Good luck getting those "installed" on these celebrity drunks or their cars.

The Media does have a responsibility to report the facts as News. When did libel and slander become legal? The fact is: NO ONE knows what Anna Nicole has died from.
An educated guess is:
The BAD MEDIA ATTENTION, a WEAKENED immune system, the SHOCK of her sons death after having gone through labor with her newborn, her BROKEN HEART to hear her mother accusing Howard and Anna of having something to do with Daniels death. The doctor prescribed MEDICATIONS to help her to cope with this nightmare. And her perceived notion that the MEDIA AND PUBLIC had no regard or sympathy for what she had just suffered, the death of her only son!
Mr. Levine, you have to be dead in spirit not to have seen or felt her pain. Maybe you just didn't care.
I hope you do have a response for me. I would welcome knowing more about who you are as a person.
The Media could do so much more as a service to our society if they could maintain a humanistic approach to someone's tragedy.

I agree that it is time to move on to other important matters. Anna and Brittany are just plain pretty women who used sex to gain fame. How hard is that to do? The wrangling over Anna is silly. If Britney shaves her head, so what? Can we look instead into the inner city schools, homeless children, social services and the need for improvement there, a real solution to the Iraq problem? etc. Why obsess over trashy women not many people really care aabout? And have we been overlooking Pamela Anderson as a source of curiosity and media frenzy? Can we please grow up?

Anna, Daniel and Brittney were just plain drug addicts. Pure and simple. Methadone was being used at least by Anna and Daniel. The clinics hand it out and the addicts go outside and buy, steal or lie their ways into street drugs. How about if Methadone could only be gotten in inpatient situaltion. Maybe then they could make some progress. I live near a Man Alive Clinic and it laughable how these addicts get around the rules. Did you know that Benzos don't show in the urine tests? And did you know you can buy urine on the internet? Few get off of methadone bc they don't want to give up their drugged state. And few stick to methadone alone. Most boost it with benzos. The addicts are laughing and we are paying.

Is anyone looking at the crimes committed here? From my viewpoint, the only person to benefit from all of this is Howard K Stern. He should be the primary suspect for both deaths. He should no be allowed to practice law. He provided drugs to her. His covered for her or participated in the death of her son. Which now that she is dead, he can say anything about her since she is not here to defend herself, this was evident in the trial where he said he helped her with drugs and he could not stop her from doing what she wanted to do. Her bizarre behavior after the death of her son has the hint of blackmail from my viewpoint. He knew it was her drugs that killed her son, and he had even more control over her with this knowledge, hence the blackmail. Their move to the Bahamas was another cold calculated move on his part. Why else would anyone want to expedite residency? He is fully aware that there is a high chance that he is not the father of this baby, and to move to a place where the laws are doing exactly what he wanted them to do, what does this say? There is so much focus on this other stuff that it seams that no one cares that there is a murderer among that group of people. Someone with allot of money to gain and it appears that no one is going to stop them. I would not be surprised if that little girl is next on the list after the money is secured. He is a very calculating person, who zeroed in on a weak target and once he made his move, there is no stopping him now. I can’t wait for the circus to leave town and the legal system to step up the plate and do what they are supposed to do.

both cases, to me, are tragic, because they involve young children too young to be aware of what is going on. As they grow up, though, they will become painfully aware of these events. I pray for their emotional well-being and security in the future.
Unfortunately, it is too late for Anna Nicole, but Britney has an opportunity to truly make a change in her life. I hope that she doesn't just go through the motions for 30 days. Perhaps someday she can look back on this time with her boys and they can talk about the happy ending.....

I have to say it is highly suspicious that Stern will not take a DNA test to prove or disprove paternity of the baby. It is wrong to focus on the dead when there is a more precious life of the baby which all concerned should be worried about. I hope Mr Birkhead is the daddy as it seems some skanky lawyer (Stern) has tried to block and outsmart him from the start and he had a lot of bad influence on Anna Nicole. Let the law of the land triumph and surely, the most important thing in the story is the fact that DannyLynn should be with her biological father as that will ensure she gets the best possible care and love which she deserves.

For all of you who are calling Anna Nicole "trailer trash" and saying that you're "glad she's gone" -- have you no shame??!!! There is a dead young woman laying in the morgue and a young baby whose future is in limbo.

No, maybe Anna Nicole wasn't the perfect citizen, and sadly paid the price for her actions; her life and death have become a circus of massive preportions. But are all you critics perfect? How many of us could stand up to public scrutiny and coming out smelling like roses?

Regardless of how far someone has fallen, there's no need for this type of behaviour. It really makes me wonder what is lacking in your lives that you have to take cheap shots at a dead celebrity.

It really saddens me to see the meanspiritedness of some of you.

I have to wonder why everyone keeps hounding Stern about taking a DNA test. It's just like his attorney keeps stating "HE DON'T HAVE TO" By Bahama law he IS the father. It's Birkhead that needs to have the DNA test done. With that said, No I am not a Stern backer, then again I'm not for Birkhead either. My personal view is that they need to rule that the Marshall clan can keep old man Marshall's money with nothing going to the baby or anyone else. Then put that beautiful little girl up for adoption, keeping her birthright anonymous, and tell the rest of the snakes involved in this case to just crawl back in the holes from whence they came.

I watched the funeral today Mom was showing "NO' emotions.Not a surprise!With all the reporters we have Nation wide, why don't they start digging into Vergie's life style,show us the town of Mexia Texas that ANS wanted to get so far away from! Lets see Virgie's home that she is willing to offer Danielynn.
Lets see other family members, that will play apart of this little girls life in Mexia Texas. I promise you...The nation ,the courts,and anybody thats anybody will be apalled about these people who are trying to get custody of this little girl and her millions. And while the press are digging, do the same with Larry Burkhead and his family.I promise you ..Virgie "IS"" doing all this for the money.
Her or her Family in Mexia,don't have the funds to exume these bodies and have them brought to Texas.So that means..Poor little Dannielynns funds will come into play. Count my words. I'm orginally from Texas and know of Mexia Texas. I believe the rest of the world needs to see why ANS left, never to return Dead or Alive!

WHY does anyone care about: American Idol, Anna Nichole Smith, Paris Hilton, and all of the so-called "reality shows" out there? Don't you people have a life of your own? Isn't there enough scary things, heartache, pain, etc., in the real world? Where are your priorities? I am concerned about: Terrorism, religious oppression, child abuse, drug abuse, homeless people, predators (of any kind), my community, my rights, free speech, and more. What do the people in mid-America (where I live) care about? From reading my local newspaper and especially it's OP-ED page, it's certainly not what the media claims to be "breaking news." And I am certainly not entertained by the wanna-be "stars" who are willing to humiliate themselves on shows like "Idol." What I do want to watch is the people on "Jeopardy," who may become household names (i.e. Ken Jennings) for their brains, not there errant behavior.

I do not understand why many celebs are idolized: I find this to often to be true and do not understand it. But I also see that when a man dies of drug overdoses, there is not such a circus or snide/judgemental statements made. if (sorry guys, no offense) a man sleeps with a lot of women, he ies fa stud and if a woman does, she is a slut. If a man dies dies from too many drugs, illegal or otherwise, he is not condemned in newspaper; at least not like Britney or Anna Nicole Smith. If a man marries an older woman, he is something for getting such a catch; but if a woman does, she is a gold differ? It is well known that Howard went after Anna for several years before she agreed to marry him. There is still a double standard that existed when I grew up in the 50' and 60's. I only wish we could go back to page one; and that is focusing more on those who are successful and have something honorable to teach our children.

thanks, R.Conner, and I have been raising the same points about certain issues concerning Anna's mother, Virgie (who was married at least five times) and that she show little reactions to how Anna felt about her. I would follow the wishes of my child, regardless of how our relationship would have been. I would also be an honorable and honest enough person to stand up to the plate and say what my part was in the distance between me and my child. But I see money written over at least two of the people fighting for the "money" and Stern was the only one who said he would give up the money...did the other two do that??? No and how sad. I can only pray that two of them do not get the baby.

Overview: The classic definition of war must be revised. We have the technological power to not make it an organized conflict between two or more groups that involve large number of individuals.
Simple solution: No matter what the issue, be it range from terrorism, sovereignty, territory, resources, religion, ideology, etc. a surgical elimination of the head of the instigating government is all that is needed. Simply make it clear that anyone supporting an issue contrary to humanity will be removed. No troops, occupation, or millions in material and resources.

The media sell's what the public buys...so there must be a market for it although most people are ashamed to admit they are entertained by celebraties. I for one am not. This does not mean I don't care about the war, any and all wars. I care about global warming, politicians,education,the state of the world in general. I can get information about "serious" issues all day any day in countless ways. Thank God for the crazy rich celebraties and the media who give us what we pay for!I sometimes need to be entertained!These people love to entertain me, they get paid well for it!What a boring world it would be without them!I also think they are more "like" us regular folk then we want to admit!I was a pretty big party girl at the tender age of twenty,I was also not very "worldwise" or bright in my misguided youth,I don't regret it.Sure these people spend more on shoes than most peoples mortgage payment...so what? Does having money mean you have to bail out the rest of the world?
By the way,most of these people do give money to charities...their tax advisers recomend it!Ha!It's easy to say you'd do such good things with money when you don't have it!I've had some decent money in my past and I honestly spent some of it foolishly,again no regrets.Thanks to all the media for both the serious and the entertaining!I love both!PS.I don't see this comment as a real serious writing,forgive me for not spell checking,I'm just entertaining myself!

It's kind of confusing as to how I ended up here. Late night, nothing to do, so I check this out. All I find are people repeating themselves or insulting those they'll never meet while they're safe behind a computer screen. Stop it. If you want to give your oppinion, fine. But don't insult someone elses because you disagree. If everyone had the same thoughts on everything, we would never get anywhere (nobody to question if something is right/wrong). So when you think about typing in something like, ''Yeah Beth, for someome who tells us to get a life, what are you doing posting comments in this section??Why are you at this particular spot?'', hold your tongue and ask (not kidding) ''What would Jesus do?''. If you're an atheist, ask, ''What would a good person do?'' I expect some flames on this, so go ahead. Just stop trying to learn. Why don't you just block out what you don't like and live in your own world?

I think the fascination with Britney stems from the fact that her life is such a radiacal extreme opposite of our own lives, and we can't help but watch with a rabid fascination to see what happens to an individual living on the edge of the extreme. None of us would dare attempt some of the things done by those in the media spotlight, but we watch anyway with fascination.
