Thank you for caring for that family. I know exactly what they are going through. My daughter (21) was murdered while babysitting on 2/17/07. Anyone that knew her would tell you that she had the biggest heart of all. But detectives don't care, they see what they want to see. They don't listen to family and have tunnel visions. They have done nothing but miss direct me on how this incident occurred. Even the Coroner who came to inform me of my daughters death lied. Knowing that my daughter had been shot in the back of the head, she came to my house asking me if my daughter was on drugs, was she depressed, would she attempt suicide. For the next 24 hours I kept asking myself how was it that I didn't notice my daughter was ill, what kind of a mother was I. It wasn't until next day when my brother went to the coroners office and got the facts, did we find out she was shot. When I inquired about the lie, the response was "she was trying to spare your feelings." I am not sure what is happening to this world, but I am now certain that if you don't have money or are well know, you don't have a case. I keep praying that my daughter's death won't turn into a Cold Case. I hope your story brings out the reality of our system in this country.

"Say Something", eh? I'll 'say something' every time I see a parent hit their child in public. I'll 'say something' when I see a parent let their children misbehave in public. I'll 'say something' when I see an adult telling a child that daddy's religion is the only 'true way'. Haven't we given up enough in the name of 'saving the children'? All it takes is an anonymous accusation of 'child abuse' and a person's life is ruined forever...even if they are found not guilty. Do you really want to encourage people to 'report' their fellow citizens? Won't it feel nice to have the police show up at your door and start questioning you because some stranger saw you haul your ornery child into a vehicle they did not want to enter? Part of living in a free, non-oppressive society is that things like this happen. Freedom isn't free.

I think it is outrageous that a thorough investigation was never made of the 100+ acres where Kathy is probably buried. The investigators in this case should be fired for incompetence. I miss Kathy a lot and it still makes me sad and angry that she has not been found. I did not realize that the Denton County Sheriff's department has been so lax in their investigation until your interview with them. One of the things I cannot comprehend is why would Kathy go see Charles alone that evening. I am not convinced she went there to talk about the divorce. The final divorce documents were filed earlier that day. There was no reason for Kathy to see Charles at all except when her son needed to be picked up or dropped off for a visit. I hope this story will motivate the Denton County Sheriff's office to reactivate the case. God Bless all of you. Thanks again!

I just wanted to let Sara James, Cathy Singer, and all the crew involved in working on Kathy's story know how much we appreciated how you put together the facts of story and brought them to life. I had to catch my breath a couple of times when I watched. I could not wait until the commercial was over to see the next segment. The story touched many peoples lives as Kathy came into their living rooms with her big smile and her kind and gentle ways. You also saw the Denton County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson who tried his best to convince us that the case was being worked, but in truth, we know there has been no activity on the case for about two and a half years, now. It has been labeled a "cold case". The family members over this period of time have done more investigating, obtaining credible information, tips, leads, etc. but when submitted to the Detectives, never get any response that they have investigated at all. Now that Kathy's story has aired. It wasn't 10 minutes afterwards that we had our cell phones ringing, our home phone ringing, emails received from all over, many tips submitted to Kathy's website (www.findkathystobaugh.info), and many posts to the guest book, with a lot of important information where people have given us after seeing the show and felt the need to share this with the family. We are so humbled and grateful for people like this to come forward to help us find our missing loved one, Kathy Stobaugh. Now that we have all of this information, who do we give it to?????? Investigate it ourselves, is our first thought, because Kathy's case has become dormant to the Denton County Sheriff's Dept.

I live in Gainesville, Texas, about 15 miles north of where Kathy lived and remember when the story first broke. I thought your piece on this was well done and well balanced between the families and law enforcement. The excruciating pain displayed by her family, especially Chris, was heart wrenching. Everyone here that saw the piece is talking about it. The main comments revovlve around prayers for the family and voicing concern over the disquieting way law enforcement appears to have approached the whole case. We all hope the airing of the story will renew interest in the case and produce new leads for law enforcement to pursue. Hopefully, with resolution will come justice and, ultimately, peace.

I am Kathy Stobaugh's uncle, we as a family knew something was amiss when Kathy missed her Papa's 95th birthday party this was January 3rd and her children had not reported her missing. I understand this was because her husband Charles Stobaugh told the children not to worry that she had gone away for some "me time". I beleive that the law enforcement believed the husband and did not want to take the time to investigate all the leads that were there in the begining and now Charles has refused to allow them back on his poperty. To me this would lead one to think that he may have something to hide. I have an exwife who gave me a wonderful daughter and if something happened to her I would demand to know, for my daughter, what happened to her. If there is nothing to hide why block the investagation that could solve the problem. He never spent time looking for her. Everone that knew Kathy will always miss her smile and easy going ways.

I grew up in Gatesville and actually graduated from high school with Kathy. I watched her story on Dateline, and I guess the thing that seems so strange to me is why the officials were not allowed or did not search the 105 acres more thoroughly, and then have not gone back. Also I am curious why the sheriff's dept did not view the video tapes. Of course, it could be that the officials did all that they could--maybe I just watch too many "police shows" that make it look easy. I do think that Dateline did a very nice job covering this story.

I've worked with Kathy's family, Kim and Mark, and have seen first hand how devastating and life altering her disapperance from their lives have been. They cannot possible give up hope so they set themselves up for constant dissapointment. There is no closure for any of them. I went to high school with Kathy Munday(maiden name) in Gatesville, TX. She was the sweetest person and very smart. We appreciate your story on our missing niece more than you can imagine. It has been so hard on the whole family and the lack of cooperation regarding the agencies involed has been so frustrating. Sara James did a wonderful job bringing Kathy's story to life on screen. It was very emotional to watch, especially the video tape and then to see our two nephews and our our dear sister, Jeanne and how emotional it was for them and continues to be for them. In this case time doesn't heal since the family is in somewhat of a limbo not knowing where to turn to get answers. We just want to know what happened to our dear Kathy and bring much needed closure for the family. The matriarch of our family is 93, Jeanne's mother, and we know this is very taxing on her as well. After watching the show I think her husband killed her. In my opinion, he did not search for her because he knows exactly where she is. I think police should interview the kids, they could possibly remember something that they might not have thought was important at the time. It could possibly help the investigation.
