I'm writing to you about a 25-year-old cold case from 1981 in which a woman named Barbara L. It does look as though no one listened to her three children who witnessed what happened.

And for so many years to pass before someone finally took interest into a true investigation. I'm glad Barbara's family never gave up the fight for her, and that maybe now will come some peace, even though 30 years is a long time coming. I praise the efforts of Patty, how heartbreaking to go through what they have been, and her strength to carry on, getting the Justice that Barbara should have had long ago. Thank you for bringing taking the interest to find the truth no matter how many years ago this still brings such pain to her family.

Justice for Barbara

I read your blog about Barbara Winn on My Space. Found it compelling as well as interesting. Good storyq

Justice for Barbara

Amazing....that a case such as this was pushed under the rug for SO LONG....I am so happy that Barbara's family never stopped fighting for the Justice that is so much deserved....to think this man has walked our streets everyday, with no recourse of what took place so many years ago. How could one go on knowing what they are responsible for!! I pray for her Justice that is so much derserved....for her to once and for all be able to rest in peace, and for her family and children to share a piece of that peace of mind as well!! In my prayers always!! Kristen

Justice for Barbara

Thank You for airing this Cold Case, involving Police, Coverup, lost evidence, Its Bizzare that the Grand Jury found Guilt, yet Aaron Foster is allowed to work for the City of St. Paul, in the Police Impound Lot, http://justiceforbarbara.com great site

http://sharon4council.blogspot.com

Justice for Barbara

It's said what has been done in darkness always comes to light, sometimes it takes a while but it will come. The best thing that could ever happen is if someone took a great big broom and swept both police departments out from the front door to the back door, from tower to dungeon and took all of the garbage and put it on a slow boat to the moon. Unfortunately, considering the current cop culture nationwide, that fix wouldn't last very long. Thank God for the investigators and their media resources that can shine even a little light into some of these dark, dark corners.

Justice for Barbara

absolutly a GREAT story tonight!!

as someone who is also fighting for justice, i'm really hanging on to what the one investigator said about never giving up. altho i dont think we will ever see the inside of a courtroom for my daughter's death- i will continue to think of Barbara as i keep fighting.

i would have not known about Barbara if it werent for myspace. Patty & family have done a nothing less than amazing job on & off myspace!

much love
pam, still kelli's mom

http://www.myspace.com/kelli_laine_doa
Justice for Barbara

MY NAME IS LENORA STONE AND AS I WATCHED THE SHOW TONIGHT ABOUT BARBARA, I COULD ONLY THINK OF THE PAIN THAT YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN THROUGH - LET ME SAY THAT MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU TIL THE END IN THIS MATTER AND HOPE THAT SOMEWAY THAT YOU WILL FIND PEACE AND CLOSURE FOR YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY - I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING MYSELF AS MY MOTHER WAS MURDERED IN FRONT ME IN 1971 (GOOGLE "SYKORA MURDER") WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GO TO TRIAL FOR 3 YEARS NOW... I cannot understand how one can hide their friends from justice, I could not do it.

I realiae that Foster would go on Trial in July 2008 and I sincerely hope that he would get life without mercy, and that Dateline would do a follow up for us to know how this case would end. I would like the Ex-police to go on trial too, and that he is given time in jail for exploying such a character in the field of law and to entrust him with a gun.

Justice for Barbara

Mr. Slepian,
Why doesn't Dateline's Mike Tiabbi do a story entitled "Justice for Jill and Kathleen" (see attached Disposable People)? Mike Tiabbi made a deal with the LAPD in 1978 to film my staged "arrest" for these two murders as a "Hillside Strangler" suspect and broadcast it nationally without waiting to see if the LAPD would charge me with these murders or not. After 48 hours of questioning and investigation, I was released and received a public apology from Chief Gates who hoped that "no irreparable harm would come to Mr.Jones because of the Media who were leading this case."
The LAPD says the murders of Jill Barcomb and Kathleen Robinson in 1978 have never been solved and their records "were lost in the earthquake"?
Mike Tiabbi used "Disposable People" like me to further his career by getting on TV with sensational, false accusations and then moving on, forgetting his victims both dead and alive. That is why I have been trying to get a NO-NAME LAW passed that would prohibit the Police from releasing a suspect's identity to the media or public until such time the "suspect" is legally charged with a crime. This fair law is needed to protect innocent people from the "irreparable harm" that ambitious, unethical reporters, such as Mike Tiabbi, can do to their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Birds of a feather, flock together.
Peter Mark Jones, 407-416-6007

Justice for Barbara

My heart goes out to the Winn family especially the children. I was really touched by this case. It was very upsetting and disturbing to see how the coldblood murderer was working for st paul police station and got away with this for sooo many yrs. He is clearly guilty. Stories like this makes me realize why i got out of a verbal/abusive relationship. It wasn't easy and I can clearly relate to this story. Mr. Foster killed Barbara Winn. The evidence are the children. THey saw what happened. He is guilty and will be found guilty. I will definitely be keeping the winn family in my prayers this july 2008. There will be justice for barbara and her family. I hope and pray that other families similar to Barbara's case fight for justice b/c I literally had to move out of the state to get away of what could've been my potential murderer.

melanie

Justice for Barbara

The show tonight was presented in such a way that it brought to light so much more about the case. I can't help but feel the pain of the Winn family. I also feel their determination. I cannot wait until you update tonights show with the announcement of Foster being found guilty.

Justice for Barbara

I was drawn to Barbara's story. My heart went out for her children. I too lost my mother when I was 9 years old. She was shot while my father and her boyfriend fought with a gun. The gun went off and she was shot in the right temple. But, to loose your mother at that young age is tramatic. My father ran away after the shooting and to date no one was charged with the murder/accidental shooting. My Aunt fought very hard for protection from her ex-husband and father of her children and her pleas were ignored by the system. She asked them twice to take away his gun because she feared for her life and they allowed him to keep it. It was with that gun, that he shot Gail Pumphrey age 43, David Brockdorff, age 12, Megan Brockdorff, age 10, and Brandon Brockdorff, age 7, before killing himself. Y'all did a remarkable job on getting Barb's Story out there. The info put out there, hopefully, will make people wake up and realize what is going on (or NOT) going on in our Legal System. You opened the Door.... Now it is up to a Jury to slam the Door shut. In my Heart I do believe the right thing will happen. We can not let Barb be forgotten, nor any other Domestic Violence Victims. Barb's case also is very close to my Heart because My sister Barb, was Murdered by her husband, in a fit of Domestic Violence, June 8th, 1996, in Mora, MN. He took the woosy way out and did himself in at the same time. thank You again for not letting Barb be forgotten.
Remember:
Domestic Violence KILLS

Love & Hugs
NOT
Drugs & Slugs

Justice for Barbara

Hello there from SLC, Utah. I saw your program and would like to thank you for airing this horrible injustice that took place so many years ago and continues to haunt the family of Barbara Winn. I am a survivor of rape as a child and domestic abuse. I am so glad this story was told. I know there are more similar cases just like this case. I keep asking God why dear lord is there soooo much domestic and verbal abuse in marriages when it is his first covenant? I'm sorry for this family's loss, hopefully they are at peace. I have a website dedicated to abuse. I also have a poem written on youtube.com called "Triggers of Trauma". We all need to stand together and end abuse.

Justice for Barbara

I watched Dateline with great interest having lived in St. Paul most of my life. I believe Foster MURDERED Barbara becasue she wanted to end things between them. AND what loving mother after shooting herself would take the time to tell this ANIMAL to hide the gun rather then the loving mother that she was , why wouldn't she say Tell my children I Love them"..and then to have the St Paul Chief of Police Bill Finney show up at her Autopsey because he couldn't believe she was dead,Hmmmmmm, maybe going there to find info so as to protect his friend. People usually can wait to read about in the newspaper...Foster is a MURDERER who I hope ruts in jail and Finney, jump on your bike and leave town, your not wanted here either. You're both SCUM, and you both will have to answer to God in the end. It's nice knowing I won't be seeing either of you there !!!!!

Justice for Barbara

I met Patty one night while I was trying to figure out myspace and wanting to start my own page for my friend who was murdered. She told me all about Barbara and sent me on my path and continued to guide me in many ways to get the story out about my friend. She also told me about you and how much you were helping bring in the quest for justice for Barb and her family and loved ones. Her persistence and determination combined with your hours of investigating and belief in the system got all of you there. I'm so excited for them.
I hope to be speaking with you someday soon about my friend.

Justice for Barbara

This is a sad story and AM so pleased you took the time to listen to the Children of Barbara.
It is time for justice and I hope it comes soon.
As far as the Mpls and St Paul Pd's are concerned I knew many of the officers, many are retired now and you cannot knock a whole Pd because of one man.
