Sunday, May 10: An alleged Ponzi scheme and more

Posted: Wednesday, May 06, 2009 6:57 PM by Elizabeth Chuck

At a time when many NBA stars are better known for their troubles off the court, rather than their talents on it, former Phoenix Sun point guard Kevin Johnson is a game-changer. In November, he was elected mayor of Sacramento, Calif. - his hometown - and took on a challenge that would make a three-point buzzer-beater look easy... trying to turn around a city hard-hit by the recession. Josh Mankiewicz goes one-on-one with Kevin Johnson.

Also - Bernie Madoff may have run what was the world's biggest Ponzi scheme - but certainly it isn't the only one. Overshadowed by the mountain of money Madoff stole are dozens of smaller alleged scams. Some have led to arrests, but they haven't made the same headlines because investors allegedly lost millions, not billions. Small change compared to Madoff. Unless of course, it was your money that was lost. Chris Hansen has that story.

And then, Hoda Kotb has the story of a third generation race car driver who loves the feel of the pedal on the metal. With her skill, daring and endurance she's making fans and generating headlines. And here's the clincher: She's only eight years old.

And, Leonardo DeCaprio, Matt Damon, Arnold Schwartzenneger all just had to have it: The new celebrity status symbol: the Tesla Roadster. It's a sexy sportscar that packs its explosive power in batteries behind the seats, and its makers hope it's the spark that will revolutionize the car industry. Josh Mankiewicz is On the Road with the Tesla.

See it this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. CT.
