New Jersey 'Predator' full of firsts

Our 11th computer predator investigation takes place in a multi-million dollar home on the beautiful shoreline of New Jersey. It's a picture perfect vacation spot for parents and children -- and for potential predators as well.

This particular investigation is full of firsts. We have had decoys in our hidden camera homes in previous operations greet and chat in person with our visitors, but this is the first time we were set up to capture such extensive interaction between the two. As you'll see, our onsite decoy Casey looks a lot younger than her 18 years, but don't be fooled.

She was exceptional when it came to making conversation with almost every one of the 28 men who came to our house. What makes this so revealing is that we not only see the potential predator engage in the grooming process in his online chat, we also see it in real time.

We have two separate places where the men can be greeted. One is inside the house in the family room and one is on the beach, with the roar of the ocean in the background. It's stunning to watch, as some of these men feel so comfortable sitting across from Casey in a beach chair explaining to her in person what they want to do to her sexually. A 53-year-old man named Eugene tells Casey, "You just relax. And I'll take care of everything, okay?" Then he says: "Just be your self. I'll just try to explain as I go. Tell me if you enjoy it." Of course he's not so explicit when I walk out.

In each of our recent investigations we've found men who have seen or heard about our "To Catch a Predator" shows and surprisingly, still show up to meet a young teen. I've gotten used to the fact that this will happen, but I have never seen anything like what happened in New Jersey.

There was actually one guy who came in and instantly recognized me. He told me that he was a religious "To Catch a Predator" viewer and that he never missed an episode. Before I could formulate my next question, he volunteered that he had heard me on a syndicated radio program and complimented me for doing a good job.

Once again we see men of all ages and from all walks of life, including a military man who seemed to be in a hurry. He comes running in with an expensive digital camera and tries to get our decoy to hustle upstairs.

Instead, he encounters me. Watch as his story changes and his situation goes from bad to worse in what is one of the most compelling "To Catch a Predator" shows we've ever put together.

"To Catch a Predator" airs on Wednesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 25 at 10 p.m.

I think the series is incredible, but so sad that it is necessary in this day and age.
Having said that, I am woindering what brand of sunglasses Chris Hanses was wearing on the beach ? They are really nice and I'd liek to get my hubby a pair!
I watched this program for the first time tonight, July 18 and I applaud what Chris Hansen and NBC are doing.  No violation of rights are occuring, these men came looking for nothing other than sex with a minor and instead have to be an adult and be confronted with the truth, that they are sick individuals that should not be anywhere near a child.  Hopefully these cases will stand up in court and they will be prosecuted, if only we could catch and put them all away.  Maybe consider airing a show in Canada... put some away here and make us all feel a little safer.
I watch ur show all the time,i just wanted to thank you for doin a show like this.Although there are alot of children who do go through this (personel experience)its good to see some of these demonds faces so maybe someone will recognize them.I think this is a very sad world were these things can do this for yrs and never get caught.I hope and pray someone makes a law that one day they will have too wear a tag that says  "I'm a pervert and i like to steal little childrens souls" that would be great .....again praise to the police who have to deal with this and the crew that sees this stuff, and praise too Chris Hansen for agreein to do it>GOD bless you all for tryin to help.
Dateline,
Do 12 to 14 yearolds really chat like that?   I am so freaked out by this.  It's so hard to believe that young girls really would do this. Would actually meet with a total stranger, when all I have done is yell at my kids, NOT TO TALK TO STRANGERS!
Truly disturbed by the amount of men willing to harm young children.  I want to thank Chris Hansen and NBC for helping to keep America's children safe.  As a parent of a thirteen year old girl, I am grateful for what your network does to expose these predators. Again, thank you for doing a rather unpleasant task.

I caught most of the July 18th program and I think that the show is a great idea.  Firstly, I'm glad to see the offenders brought to justice. Secondly, I'm sure that this type of detailed expose of the tactics used by predators like these tonight will help other young teens from falling prey in the future.  Keep up the great work, I see nothing but positives about this project!
Maybe it's because I have boys or maybe because they are not on the internet yet but, I think this kind of entrapemnt is very unfair.  If there were not real girls out there at 13, 14 & 15 willing & wanting to have sex & parents who do not care enough to watch out for them, these guys would not have anyone to prey on!  Yes they are very pathetic but not worth our tax dollars to entrap.  a mother of 2 who cares about her kids.
Chris-Thanks for continuing this crusade!  It's unbelievable the way these predators talk to teenagers online...very sad.  As parents we have to be very aware and talk to our kids often!

Thanks again!
I've seen most of msnbc's To Catch a Predator Shows and am glad someone is doing something about these very sick individuals but, what happens after they go to jail?  As you know, these men do this over and over again and going to jail it just a slap on the wrist.  When and how can we make our laws against these preditors harsher?  All sexual preditors belongs behind bars FOREVER!!!  When are you coming to CT to catch those in my neighborhood
I am a resident of texas and I just saw a report from my local station attacking the methods of To catch a predator while shooting in Murphy Texas.  Ultimately I believe in what this group is doing to track down and capture sexual predators and I apologize on behalf of the news station for the investigation against Dateline and your methods for tracking down internet predators.  Keep up the good work and ignore those who try to lay obstacles in your path.
We love your show. Chris Hanson become a "family" name.  My concern however, is that your only "bait" is young females.  I am the mother of 3 young boys, ages 6, 8 and 9. They spend a considerable amount of time on our computer playing games, and surfing the internet.  While I try to always keep an eye out for them while they are on the computer, there are times I am busy with normal household responsibilities. My biggest fear is that they are communicating with a different type of predator....an adult male who is looking to do unspeakable things to young boys.  I would like to see you bring attention to these type of men...We are very sensitive to this type of predator because we live just miles away from what happen to Shawn Hornbeck.  As you can imagine we are worried about all types of predators...You are doing GREAT work making the public aware of this despicable behavior with you females.  We hope that you will bring to light the sick people who target and prey on young males.
Dear NBC Dateline NBC to Catch a Predator,
I have just watched the news about the lawsuit filed against NBC.  I am amazed that anyone would feel that the show would ever cause someone to commit suicide.
I just wanted to say a million thank you's for the wonderful job that your staff have done.  I hope the show continues doing an amazing job to get these creeps away from children.
I saw that a lawsuit was filed by the sister of the prosecutor who killed himself.  I really hope the justice system throws this out.  This guy was sick to start with and it is nobodys vault but his own that he killed himself.  I am so sick of the bad guys blaming others.  Just like I am sick of Vick the football player, Paris Hilton, Benoit, etc. being admired by kids and adults and they are not good people.  I am hoping the justice system will start to prosecute at the highest level for people in the public eye, just like the prosecuter was caught he deserves to be punished but he could not handle it.  I am so sick of all of this.  Keep pushing forward with your program and get these sick people off the streets.
Chris Hanson...your making a difference and that is what matters most!
I personally think the show is a great show.  I beleive it provides a service, and shows us how vulnerable our kids can be, and makes us aware of what happens every day.  In almost all cases, the culprits are aware that what they are doing is against the law.  Sorry, but I have no sympathy for these individuals, and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Ok...I know that I may get some slack for this comment however I feel that it needs to be said. I am a 22 year old woman, I have a full time job and am engaged to be married. In no way am I a misinformed or uneducated human being. Having said that...I truly find it wrong to put all of the blame on men for acting on a welcomed and fully willing proposition. I have watched this show now for a long time, and I know that at 13 and 14 years old I was old enough to make an informed decision about my sexuality and weather the actions I took were right or wrong. I think what Dateline is doing to these men is a form of entrapment furthermore I think a 13 or 14 year old girl is as mentally capable and on the same level sexually as many of the 23 24 or 25 year old guys on there. I also feel that if you are going to charge these men for their actions then the girls soliciting sex with them should be charged also. However I do believe that there must be a cut off somewhere but I think it should be in the age DIFFERENCE and not just an age of a girl and any guy who tries to talk to her. Many young women now a days engage in consentual sex with men older than they are. Example my fiance is 13 years older than me, and on the same level sexually as I was at 16. So for all of the people who read this I just have to say that if you look at alot of the men on these shows...many are either overweight or what some would concider not goodlooking some even clearly mentally disabled. I have yet to see a confident goodlooking man on that show, so to exploit men who are obviosly acting on an offer they might likely never get otherwise in my opinion is wrong. And any 14 year old girl who is old enought to get on a computer and talk and act like the decoys talk and act on that show...is more that old enough to make a decision about her own sexuality. Thanks for listening but I just couldnt watch anymore!!!!
I think this is one of the best learning tools/show on the TV. I watch it almost every week with my 13 year old son.  I think it makes predators more real to kids if they watch it and not parents preaching.  Teens tend to tune out parents when they are just preaching about something that isn't too real. Seeing someone else tell them it's all to real and predators don't care about the children theyt abuse.  I hope that you continue with your program for a very long, long time!!  Men like that make me sick to my stomach.  They should all be castrated, or hung with a treble hook through their balls. The guy that was going to be shipped off to Iraq I'm so glad that he showed up.  What do you think he would do in Iraq to all those little girls who don't have protection from soldiers who think they can do anything because they are Americans and above the law.  Keep up the good work!! This mom really appreciate the candor of this show!!!!
I have a 8 yr. old daughter and I appreciate the Dateline series because they give insight into the mind frame of men who know no boundary when it comes to fulfilling their own sexual desires. Talking to an adult online is one thing but talking to kids and knowing they are kids is another beast that I think the Dateline shows may not cure the problem but at least highlight it.  Shame on the people that come down on Dateline for the "fallout" of their stories meaning the divorces they cause and the unemployment it brings, its that type of blind eye that America has treasured for so long that allowed slavery to last for hundreds of years cause of fear the farmers would lose profit.  I've followed these Dateline shows from the very beginning, and my only concern now after seeing so many that the predators will only begin to be smarter in dealing with the teens that are still willing to meet older men from the internet. Meaning, these guys might require some sort of nudity be sent to them before they come, thinking that will filter out the frauds, also I'm concerned, men that are determined to continue to meet children off the internet will be more aggressive. Another concern is that Dateline NBC, Chris Hanson and others might find themselves in a hostage situation with a desperate man trying to get away. Not sure if those thoughts were already in the mind of the shows producers, but they were on my mind.  Last thought, I'd like to see a follow-up show called "To Prosecute a Predator". I'd like to know every single guy that was caught in the online sting, who was prosecuted and sent to jail and for how long, given probation, or outright been found not guilty.
Chris Hansen, you are awesome! We watch your show with our soon to be thirteen year old and it gives her insight on many levels and also why we won't allow her a myspace. My husband wasn't sure we should let her watch but I insisted. Its out there and we need to inform our children, as unfortunate as that maybe, its a plan fact. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Even though I am not a fan of hyped or "no bounds" T.V.,Chris Hansen is doing a fantastic job with this series. To unfairly label a person a predator is something that cannot be taken back. However, Chris and the P.D.s that have had him come to their town with this series have gone to great lengths to make sure they are dealing with the real psychos out there.Every case shown means one less victim immediately. Then there is no end to how many of these crimes are stopped. You have made watching T.V.important again, without shortcuts or hype.God bless you all!

Hi,
I just want to say that in short that your show is the
best and  it should continue on. I was sexually abused when I was 9 years old, and I of all people understand what can happen  to kids. It did not stop for me until I was l7 years old.
I love your show only because its a great help to keep
these guys off the street or should I say off the computer. We need to try to help the  young kids as much as we can. I wish that I had you guys when I was
young.

Thanks for all of the help in catching and in hopes
teaching these guys something.

Always,
Diana McKeever
Please forgive me, but in your intro on this very blog, YOU seem to enjoy the fact that sexually explicit conversation is "real time".  Codos to the show for getting these creeps off the streets, but I have a few questions.  Do you offer any education for these sick people?  Any help in dealing with their sickness?  Will they ever be trusted when it comes to young, seemingly willing "teens"?  Busting them is one thing, and entertaining to watch as they ask when they will be seen on TV, but helping them is another.  Is your show, or NBC, or anyone helping these people?
Just out of curiousity.  Is there anyway we can follow up on these sickos to see what happend to them?  Also what is the normal minimum charge that these predators recieve.  You all do a great job out there and please, please keep it up.
I can't begin to tell you how impressed and thankful I am for what you guys do. Your program is obviously very effective and i watch it every week. It's great what you are doing.
Dear Sir,
I was watching "To catch a predator" and actually had to leave the room, because I was getting sick to my stomach.
I am grateful that you have undertaken this mission to stop these fellows. I am now 54 years old and still feel sick when I remember how many men tried to molest me as a child.
Your series shows men that may try to claim they were seduced by an underage girl, but the problem still exists whether a child flirted or not. I did not entice or flirt with any of the men that "bothered" me. These men care nothing for the guilt that these children feel after such an encounter. I was so ashamed and embarrassed and frightened each time. I told no one, because I was afraid that people would think that I was bad. I felt so dirty. It wasn't until I had children of my own that it finally made me realize that I had done nothing wrong.
Keep going after these fellows and please try to encourage parents to make their children aware of these dangers, and teach them to speak up. It could save them alot of anguish in the long run.
Great job Chris...I hope you continue to get these sick men off the streets.
I am amazed that there are so many sexual predators out there!  Thank you for the excellent reporting and helping local authorities catch these people.  I hope your series explodes onto all the major networks just so these sexual predators and identity thiefs have nowhere to hide.  This show is obviously needed in the U.S. due to the fact of how many people you've caught.
Keep up the excellent work!
Chris Hansen,
First off, Thank You to You and all at NBC that are involved in this show. Honestly, It scares me-to watch it but, I watch because it is real- it is all around us. The fact that these people are so stupid doesnt shock me, it is the lack of respect that sickens me. Here I am- watching a news broadcast complaining about your show- Give me a break. To top it off, that you all have this lawsuit-against you-
I think it is just a little too much "Reality" TV for them- It's more important to watch Real World - or these other mindless, useless shows- probably because it is more acceptable to "society".
That is so sad- I am a partialy disabled 27 y/o USMC Vet.- a woman at that, and I have a daughter myself. I have two wonderful children. I served my country honorably, and it is a shame that our country- our world has come to this. I hope, no I pray that people wake up and see what is going on around them... when I was a young girl, I wish this show would have been on the air- I had several friends get hurt, and in very bad situations... I just want you to know that I am a advocite of this show- it needs to be seen - by everyone. You keep up the good work- and catch these CRIMINALS. I appreciate it, I respect it- and I know many others feel the same way. Semper Fi-
It's nice to know someone is out there getting rid of the predators in New Jersey.  I am also glad that Ocean County is going to do what needs to be done to clean up this area.
I think Chris Hanson is doing a great job getting these sick perverted scum locked up!  I hope he continues to work with law enforcement all over the country.  It's really sad to realize what a sick world we live in, and it's a damn shame that children cannot enjoy life as they really should.  It's all very maddening.  Thank you Chris for helping to protect our children!
I'd like to see you work 24/7.  Get these perverts off of our streets and away from our kids.  Keep up the good work.
I know theese people are severly disturbed but this is entrapment, any way you look at it. A lonely, sad, disturbed person is gonna fall for this.I'ts like waiving candy in front of a baby. What really concerns me is this. Why would a 14 yr.old girl be soliciting herself on the internet for a grown man to start with?Any girl having this kind of talk is no child!I feel there is a shared responsability here.Theese young girls need self respect and need to understand the consequences of putting themselves out there!
This was a very informative Dateline, I have a 15 yr old that also gets on my space and would like to see more series such as this topic. I missed the 1st part of it and would like to know how to order a transcript of tonight's show.
thank you, Ms. Womble
Chris, I love the work you are doing, God only knows what some of these guys could possibly do to young girls or boys. As much as we love watching it, I kind of wish it was not on tv because many perverts are probably less likely to go through with meeting up with your crew due to watching, or hearing about your program. Either way, please keep up the excellent work. God bless you, Wes
My husband and I watch with interest your "Predator" and tonight he came up with a very interesting comment. "Yes there are a lot of men out there trying to lure young girls, but what about women who might be luring young men". Have you thought to do a program on that topic? We were just curious. Keep up the great work.  Enjoy your show.
DONT YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO THAN TO ENTRAP PEOPLE WITH A MAN TALKING LIKE A 13 GIRL WHO PROBABLY WOULD NOT TALK TO THESE MEN THIS WAY THE WAY WAS THE IDEA OF CATCHING IDENTITY THEFT SOUNDS MORE LIKE SOMETHING YOU SHOULD DO NOT THIS i KNOW THERE ARE PERVERTS IN THIS WORLD AND THEY SHOULD BE CAUGHT BUT BY YOU MAKING SEXUAL SUGGESTIONS TO THESE MEN IS TO ME ENTRAPMENT IS ITS REAL SENSE. tO ME YOU GUYS NEED TO GET A LIFE SORRY I'VE WATCHES THIS SHOW BEFORE AND TO ME IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE BETTER THINGS FOR YOU TO COVER. bECAUSE i DONT KNOW OF ANY 13 GIRL WHO WOULD ASK A STRANGE MAN TO HER HOUSE WHIL;E HER PARENTS ARE'NT HOME AND SHE WOULD NOT TALK SO EXPLICIT ABOUT SEX YOU GUYS TALK SEXUAL TO THE MEN AND THEY JUST RESPOND LIKE MEN WOULD..........
Dateline/Chris Hansen, I would like to thank you so very much for for having the courage to bring this issue to our home.I am proud father of a bright and beautiful young lady,I would often catch your t.v. program "to catch a predator" and become angered and frustrated and to see that these individuals, how "regular"they appear and blend in society not looking like freaks as we'd all like to help us distiquish them from us,but despite all this I turned off the t.v. and say that is so disturbing and sad but not my baby and not within my community.Icould not be more wrong, when the show that was filmed in New Jersey aired...I was taken a-back,couldn't believe how close to home this really is...I am still overwhelmed, disgusted, and saddened.I sincerly thank you so very much, for bringing this issue to my home and reminding me that the conversation I once began with my angel needs a follow up.Thank you again.
Chris,
Here is the problem. Let's say that the behavior exists to even a greater extent than we think. And I agree that it's the most disgusting of behaviors.
Other than to sensationalize it, what have you done to actually address the problem? Four hundred shows later this approach will not make a dent in the problem. It may have earned MSNBC and yourself millions of dollars.
Other than catching these people, and exposing them on national TV, what else exists in your process? Do you provide education to stop this kind of behavior?
Do you provide treatment for those who are caught?
If someone is caught drinking while driving, which is also a dangerous behavior and often affects the rights of others, along with the penalty they get some hope of treatment.  You are stepping into a problem, let’s say a severe one.
Other than to sensationalize it, is that part of your program that is constructive?
Chris, you understand the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. The act of examining a event in some way alters the event, just by your observing it. When there is additional pain or shame caused by your process, who speaks to that?
Another question, I understand entrapment. I also understand that we have an organization called law enforcement to solve this problem. Is it legal for you to become and enforcement officer? You are making this your full time vocation. Do you have any training in law enforcement?
I understand, you partner with law enforcement. Is it legal for law enforcement to partner with you? If MSNBC decided to attempt to pick up every drunk in lower NYC, would or should the police department rush to arrest all the alcoholics that you have found? And where does your process face the light of day that every investigation needs to face?
And finally, by planning this unspeakable action, I have also given you the permission to broadcast my image to the nation? I know that you would never allow this to happen, but what if one of the producers made a mistake?
Chris, here is the first of two issues that really bothers me about this. You come across as enjoying this. Turn of the sound for five minutes and watch your facial expressions. Better yet, have a psychiatrist watch them. You are acting like a bully.
And you are enjoying it. Entitled or not, that is what you will find if you look at yourself objectively. We don’t let our law enforcement people behave this way. And I understand the temptation.
Investigative journalism, maybe. This doesn’t look like Woodward and Bernstien tracing the money to the President. As far as I can see no talent or journalism required here at all? If so, what is it? Your ability to interrogate? That doesn't put you in a very different category than those you arrest.
Chris, I am attempting not to get angry myself, but you have legitimized being a bully.  No matter how disgusting, you are picking on the sickest and the weakest among us. There was a movie made once about other abnormal behaviors. It was called On Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. As McMurphy was lobotomized, shouldn't we administer justice right on the spot to these people.
Honestly, there is something about this that isn't right about this. It's mean. And it may not be fair. And that matters. That matters a lot.
That isn't why television journalism was created, to play the same pathetic story, forty two times. And in that act, that is where for me, you have crossed the line. I did not ask you or MSNBC to police the internet for me. First you can't. And secondly, for my community, we haven't asked you to come here. That is my second problem. We didn’t train you or ask you to perform this function.
A rhetorical question. Are you willing to  give me $10,000's to investigate your past and create a special episode about your background we can broadcast on MSNBC. Guaranteed I will find something that you would not like on national television. So your premise is that by breaking the law, I have also given you the right to broadcast my actions on national television?
Chris, I do not want to start a movement that in any way appears sympathetic to those you trap. They are pathetic. And their behavior needs to be stopped. I am questioning the method.
This isn't the only illicit behavior on the internet. There are many others. Identity theft, scams of all varieties, illegal gambling. Maybe the internet should be regulated. Maybe this sentence that I am typing should be scanned by the government for words that indicate terrorism. Perhaps it already is.
You have picked a tough problem. One that will not yield to a very simple  approach.
Two things really mother me, and yes, I do draw analogies the Mr. McCarthy. One, you enjoy this way too much. It really borders on sadism. Two, no one asked you to perform this role. You volunteered.
No one asked Mr. McCarthy to purify us from communism. He volunteered. And mean spirited. Must have been, or a journalist would not have remarked, "Have you no decency?"
Please do not make this your life’s work. Opinions change. I can almost guarantee you that there will be no Pulitzer Prize for episode #1003.
I am trying to be fair, and I sincerely hope that you will respond. I am certain that I am not the first person to express these concerns.
But it do thing that this is about decency. Decency is a quality about you, not about the other party.
Chris, did you ever walk past the school yard going home and see some bully beating on someone smaller?
Did you ever want to come to help the weaker kid?
We have to go out of our way to be sure that we are fair, and that we are decent.
Saddam Hussein deserved to die. He didn’t deserve to die the way that he did.
I watched your show tonight and I sure am glad that someone is trying to do something about this issue and get these men off our streets away from our children. I want to Thank You for your show, very much! Also, I would like to add that I just heard about the possible law suit that NBC might be up against due to Mr. Condrat in Texas and I am truly sorry that this may happen. I am sorry that his family was put through the ordeal of him committing suicide but that was not the fault or your TV program.  The man apparently had problems of his own or he would not have been trying to seduce Children in the first place. I hope that all this mess being brought up against NBC will not stop the airing of To Catch an Internet Predator.
Thank you, Nancy Bumgardner
Thank you MSNBC for continuing to bring awareness on this issue and help stop these predators.  As a parent, it is very scary to watch.  However, I  felt for your young decoy.  Eighteen years old is not too far from the fourteen year old she is playing.  I feel that it is much too young to play decoy to sexual predators.  She knew there was law enforcement there for protection, but there were still several times the decoy stated she felt "scared".  I believe you can find someone older that can still play 13/14 yrs old convincingly.
i have always liked watching the preditor shows.  tonight i sat my 12 year old neice down to watch the show with me i think it really helped she is freeked out .  she is not in the chat stage and hopefully she stays out of the chat stage   thank you for your series.
This evening was the first time I viewed To Catch a Predator in its entirety.  What a fantastic show - I relish in the fact that these animals of society are getting caught.  I only wish that their penalities were far beyond what our justice system allows.  That's okay though - they'll be judged someday.
Hi NBC.
I love your shows on this subject. This is like Americas most wanted. You at NBC want to catch theses guys . Keep up the good work.
Iam 43 male that has two young sons ages 9 and 13. I would like you to keep aring the show no matter what.
There is one thing I would like to sugest. Could you do a show the same way but use little boys as decoys to catch women doing the same thing as the men you have caught. Iam from Toronto Canada. There is also alot of women online doing the same thing that the men do online. We never see that in print news or tv news. We just hear about women teachers in the news getting to our young boys. We even don't hear about that much, because older women seducing our young boys is a shock and in our society. I think we should also try to catch these women preditors as well. My young boys are always online. I teach them about the internet so does my wife. We see alot of shows showing older men seducing 12 and 13 years old but we don't see shows that show older women seducing our young boys.
I think Dateline NBC to catch a predator is great. Please do a few shows about women. Preditor just doesn't mean men it also means women. The women preditor is on the rise. I hope NBC reads my letter.
Thanks again for the great shows. Keep up the good work even tho you at NBC is getting sued. Iam on your side. I think we in Canada just like you guys in the states are doing a great justice with your program.
Thanks Jeremy Evans
Dear Chris Hanson,

First of all, i wanted to tell you how awesome your show is!!!  I am so glad you are getting these sick predators off the streets.  I'm a 34 year old single parent of two children ages 13 and 3.  My son was a victim of a predator who was an ex-boyfriend which I thought we could trust.  My son was age 7 when this happened...  This sick man took naked photos of my son and fondeled his genetils in the bathtub.  I had no clue of this happening until two years later.  I immediately phoned the police, worked with detectives and had my day in court.  Thank god my son never had to speak in court because this ex-boyfriend pleaded no contest.  I was relieved he was incarcerated but was disappointed that he only served 8 months in prison because of jails over populating.  He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life but I still feel that his punishment was not harsh enough because we have to spend the rest of our lives haunted by this.  I feel like we are doing hard time instead of this sex offender.  My son suffered depression and he has a problem with his personality along with other health issues.  We are taking baby steps to recover from this trauma, I still feel like it's going to be a long battle.  I'm too overprotective and strick, and I worry more than usual because my son has an online my space account and I don't know whose on the other side talking to him but as far as the sex offender; do you think 8 months in prison is justice?  I sure don't!!!  Thank you for working hard to keep kids safe.  Watching your show is a healing process for me because i know you care and i know you are out there to educate more families.  Thank you so much.
Hi Chris,
I have watched all your shows on catching predators. I have a question, Why do you use a adult decoy to play a minor. Don't you think this is a double standard when it comes to convicting these predators. Why not educate a minor which is 17 that could play a 12 or 13 year old instead of an adult. I don't know much about the law in this situation but does the predator have a leg to stand on in court when he is convicted of this crime if he knows that an adult is playing a minor. What if a minor played an adult online and showed up at one of these houses. Know how would you deal with this situation and would you show the public what happens when the reverse situation happens. We all know that a minor can't get in trouble by talking this way to another minor. Please reply. Anyway keep up the good work getting all the slime off the streets. P.S. I am waiting for you to set up woman as well, there out there as well. Now that would be something to see on TV. I bet everyone would see that show. Anyway let me know what you think.....
                        Sincerly,
                          James Rago
first of all i am writing as a man who veiws this action (older men seeking minor girls for sex)as a disgusting problem within our society. i have to give you praise for trying to address such a problem. at the same time i think your next report in this matter should be a look at the minor girls who do contribute to the problem as well. i have alot of mixed feelings about the way these "sting" operations are run. you set up a girl or even a man to cruise in and out of chatrooms as a minor girl looking for fun with a man (weather it be older or not). as the "decoy" as you call it gets interest they set themselve up for some chat which eventually leads to sex chat. there the suspect gets invited for a "arresting" meeting. to me it seems like entrapment, or like the good old speed trap where 1 cop does all the clocking and the others do all the ticketting. again let me stress i agree with you this is a serious problem it needs to be stopped.
it would be a good idea for investivegative reporting to now look at the flip side of this terrible problem. girls that are minors and pose as adults over 18. i have personal knowledge of a friends niece who is only 15 but has a myspace profile saying she is 18. again i will go strongly on record as saying "i don't agree with older men seeking minor girls for sex. it is a problem in our society that needs to be dealt with." in closing i am a 32 year old father of a teen girl and have a teen stepdaughter as well. i am not with either of the mothers any longer, but do appreciate the effort you are taking to make the world a bit safer for them. i look forward on seeing some effort to seek out the "predators" willing prey, so american parents may be alerted to their childerens internet usage.
Mr. Hanson,

I would like for you to start asking these men if they look at porn on the internet in your line of questioning.  I would be willing to bet that every one of them watches excessive amounts of pornography.  I personally believe that it has corrupted the mind of everyone of these people and if we looked into it, I'd bet it is the ONE thing they all have in common.  Want to protect kids, time to get rid of the smut...
NBC, Chris Hanson, Perverted Justice and everyone who works on this series are doing a tremendous public service in alerting the public on sexual predators that lurk on the Internet.  Thanks!
Thank you so much for also pursuing identity thieves with the "predator" series - too long have these parasites preyed on the public. Looking forward to Dateline's continued aggressive confrontation.
Bless
