7:55 p.m.
Meet a the guy who thinks he’s about to get away it, at least for a few minutes. Mohamed Abdalla walks into our hidden camera house oozing with confidence. Notice how relaxed he is talking with our actress posing as a young teen home alone. Even when I walk out to talk to him, he’s got his story all set and he’s sticking to it.

Abdalla tells me that he’s in real estate and was driving through our area to check on a piece of property he owns. Along the way he notices that the space shuttle is blasting off from nearby Cape Kennedy and pulls over his car to watch. Just a short while earlier, we too had watch the spectacular nighttime launch.

What Abdalla isn’t prepared for is that I have not only the transcripts of his sexually explicit conversation with a decoy posing as a 13-old-girl, but also naked photos of himself that he sent online. How do we know it is Abdalla in the photos? As you’re about to see, a unique piece of jewelry in the picture matches one that is hanging around the 34-year-old man’s neck. So much for the clever story.

8:16 p.m.
In a moment you’re going to meet a 22-year-old college student and chemistry teacher named Deepak Bist. This guy drove four hours to get here and after reading his online chat with a decoy who said she was 13, I am wondering what he was thinking about during that long car ride. I guess you could argue that all of these guys should know better, but Bist actually talks about our investigations during his chat. He even tells the decoy he’s watched Dateline’s “To Catch A Predator” the evening before his chat. This doesn’t seem to stop him from bringing a virtual sex kit to his underage liaison.

8:33 p.m.
We may be shooting in Florida, but on this night it is windy and cold. That doesn’t stop a 24-year-old amateur boxer named David Wagner from showing up to meet a 13-year-old girl. The boxer starts to leave when he sees me walk into the room. But watch as he decides to come back and answer some questions. He asks me if this is an “open house” as if he were shopping for real estate. It’s an open house all right…one in which 21 men would show up during four days last December.

8:46 p.m.
Towards the end of tonight’s show, you’re going to see a potential predator try to meet a teen in a location besides our hidden camera house. This is a challenge both logistically and technically. We set up several hidden cameras on the beach across the street from our house. The idea is to have a potential predator meet our decoy on the boardwalk connecting A1A and the beach. As you watch our next guest show up, see if you can figure out where we’ve hidden our cameras and where the Flagler Beach Police are hiding before the arrest.

8:57 p.m.
Next week, we tell you exactly where everything and everyone was and you’ll see what happens when a member of law enforcement shows up in our investigation. It’s an officer who may have more firepower than the Flagler Beach officers working in this investigation.

Chris, these sick people must spend all their time on the net and never watch tv, because this show airs all the time. I have twin daughters and this sickens me. They come up with the lamest excuses when confronted. Please put these crimminals away for life.
Keep up the good work! Is it true that the perpetrators must agree to having their identity shown? If so, ddo they get a better deal?
m.rodgers in MN well maybe your kid should watch DATELIN and you to maybe you will lern sonething .yes its 7pm and your kid should be seeing this and know not to trust some stranger online
Chris, I applaud you! I'm sitting here watching and stunned with the first accused predator caught. Oh, and the EXCUSES...They seem to get more elaborate with each accuser. 'To Catch A Predator' and 'America's Most Wanted' are two episodes that should go on forever, no matter the amount of viewer ratings. Sincerely, J. Carey
Keep up the good work ! I truly believe that if you continue to do this for the next ten years the numbers of predators would continue to grow. I am an adult female who was molested at the age of 9 by a neighborhood store owner.Get these sick individuals off our streets and out of our neighborhoods!!! Thank you for being brave enough to bring this serious, out of control problem to the public!!
we scene alot of these program's and have two question's do the decoy's lead these guy's on to get them introuble and second why do you never show women as sexual preditor's your telling me that in thias country all we have are men predator's but not women find that hard to beleive start showing the truth onthat
I think this show is great and so is Chris Hansen. I just wish there were enough people to set up a sting in every state. They could travel from town to town. Something like this should have started years ago and maybe it wouldn't be such a problem today. Keep up the good work Chris.
Keep up the up the good work you are doing. One more preditor off the street is a few more children safe. Thank you!
Thank you Chris Hanson, This is not anything new in our society, this has been going on since the begining of time, our population is up, and the predators are amongst us. Parents beware and keep your children close to the hip, I raised five children, and kept them close and to the hip, and watched and supervised them, and of course, people would say, gee, they go every where with you and they are involved in many community activities, yes, entertain your children, ,be there or be square!!!! Oklahoma Super Mom......
GOOD JOB CHRIS!! How do you go about picking a location for a episode? Thanks!
I think these shows should be an eye opener for parents out there. These perverts are EVERYWHERE!! Parents, talk to your children about the people they talk to online. I'd love to know how i could help Perverted Justice put these sickos behind bars and expose them for the disgusting pieces of work they are. Two thumbs up for NBC! You rock!
I wish you guys could come to Franklin ohio. I Think you guys would be doing our city a great service.
The show is great and helping to protect our most precious resource, our children. I love the fact it's televised weekly because it puts their face out there. Keep up the terrific work!
Thank you Chris. I would love to see something done with predators on adult women who are either in a general chat room or just being on AOL. I cannot tell you how often I am online doing work and I am sent an intstant message from men who are looking for sex without strings and will go as far as sending naked pictures of themselves to try to get you to want what they have to offer. It makes me sick that there are so many men out there that are doing this that I have to go online invisable to prevent this from happening. I also have experienced men who say their intentions are to meet as just friends but when you actually meet them, they try everything to get you to have sex with them. I have also had men online offer me money to have sex with them. I know you have only done this with men who solicit young teens for sex, but I would love to see something about predators trying to convince women to have sex with them.
Hi, I've always been a proponent of free speech, and the Internet is no exception. You're series perhaps shows that the definition of free speech in the modern age might need to be redefined. It appears to me that the Internet facilitates an "all too easy" contact by potential child preditors with children. What's really the most disturbing, is that as many creeps as you catch each week, I have to wonder? I wonder about the maybe thousands more children out there who are getting a housecall without Dateline and the police standing by to catch them. Are there any statistics on how much this goes on?
I am grateful for Dateline getting serious with sexual predators, and it is past time for these men to be put in their place. My father sexually abused me while I was a young teen. After several months of abuse, I finally had the courage to tell someone, I thought that he would be in jail for a very, very long time. I was crushed when he was handed probation. I was the one who was singled out emotionally. I was the one who felt like a freak. It is time for sexual predators to feel ashamed and face stiff consequences. Do people truly understand the ramifications of sexual abuse? I still struggle with guilt. Somehow, deep inside, I still feel like what was done to me is my fault. I feel, at times, that I should have kept the secret to myself and had just chosen to live with it. Probation wasn’t enough to compensate for the pain I endured at home and the humiliation I faced at school. I moved 1200 miles from the small town I grew up in to get far away from my father and to escape the pain. I left so that I could start a new life, a life where my past wasn’t supposed to follow me. Then, I went to college and became best friends with my husband. The first time my husband and I tried to have sex, I JUST SOBBED IN HIS ARMS. I have to bury the memories of my father EACH TIME I have sex, and I have been married for over five years. Dateline, THANK YOU for helping to protect children. America please put sexual predators BEHIND BARS.
As the father of a 15 year old girl this series scares me. That there might be men my age out there trying to seduce a girl my daughters age is crazy. I hope other police agencies around the country are putting together teams that go after these individuals. I will get with my local police agency and request they do so. BRAVO Dateline.
I watch this show when I catch it. I think this is a great show -- maybe / hopefully the pervs that are attempting to sleep with a minor will catch on that they will get caught. I feel terrible that young girls do these things...but they don't know any better...lack of attention from their parents??!! Hopefully parents will pay more attention to their kids.
It is amazing to me how many people there are that are predators. After all the shows. The guys should know by now they will be caught. And to those that are posting negative things about the show. They are on here for you. Kepp up the great work NBC
To the person who doesn't like the content at 7:00pm: maybe you should turn off the TV and TALK with your kids during dinner. If you can't do that (my TV came equipped with both an off switch and a channel changer) why not take the opportunity to discuss this problem with your 9 year old before he/she becomes the target of one of these sick bastards.
I think your show is great!! I like the fact that you do this show every week, it just is disgusting that there are that many people out there to give you this material!!! People need to know about these sick people, that it is all walks of life. Being a parent it makes me ill to see how many pedophiles there are out there. Thank you for having this program!
Wow...why is everyone so negative. Obviously the men don't watch the show or they still wouldn't be talking with minors. I think it is great that they are doing this series. Hopefully these sick men are taken off the steet. We think Chris is doing a great job. Keep up the good work Chris. :O)
I was wondering are there any females predators and are you ever going to do a to catch a predator with woman....I believe that it is rare but I think it may happen....Woman get do not get the same punishment as men even though I feel the crime is the same.
Great show and glad you are spreading the awareness. Any thought to exposing older women seeking out under age boys, if it exists. Thanks!
Chris Hansen, your doing a great job. There should be more stings like this. What an idiot of this asshole after telling him about Dateline.
hello, my name is brandon from kansas and i'd just like to say that i really appreciate what it is that you guys do. from chris hansen to preverted justice and especially the young ladies and gentlemen who put themselves in those situations. i have young nieces and they are growing up so fast and they love the internet and i don't know what i would do if someone tried to contact them in anyway. so again thank you all for your hard work and everything you do. i have been watching the show for a while now and i admire what you are doing to help families and youth everywhere. now as far as this particular episode i can't begin to comprehend the lies and stories some of these guys come up with. especially this abdalla character, i mean seriously, i truly believe the penalties for these people should be as harsh as murder, because in so many ways the men who aren't caught kill the innocence of young boys and girls everyday. keep up the good work everybody! sincerely yours, brandon
Hey Chris! Remember you from Detroit "Channel 7.. Action news" listen, its good to read all the stuff here and try to find out about the outcomes of some the "predators" I'd like to SEE it on TV sometime.. An Update so to speak. eventho we can READ some of it here and TV program of it would be GREAT.. Karen Stinson, Shady Hills FL..(18 yrs) Born and raise 31 yrs in DETROIT. Loved ya Then, Love ya Now
Keep It Real! Parents need to know that the Predators are not using appropriate language when trying to seduce our children. As a parent, I appreciate the bluntness and honesty in your investigation.
To all the people who say this needs to be on later or rated "R", do you not see the warning in the beginning of the show that says it contains graphic material. That should be your heads up to either put your kid to bed or change the channel.
As I am reading many of these comments it seems that people are not thankful for what you are doing. I do not have kids, but I always watch "To catch a predator" I run a retail store with many young teens who thrive on MySpace.com and many other online sites. I love this show, I take so much of this information back to the teens who work for me to teach them how sick some people can be. As an mentor to my employees, meaning, I am not their parents, they do not hide what they do online from me, so I see it as a learning opportunity to teach and tell them about how teens are prey to sick individuals. I think this is a great program for everyone. Parent's should take this show as a time to teach their children what is out there, and teach them how to be more careful and cautious. Keep up the great work.
I would really like to see stings like this in New Jersey. I monitor my child on the computer but it takes 2 seconds to log onto to sites like myspace and see what other kids right in our area are putting online about themselves. Full names, street addresses, pictures, sports they participate in - it's a wide open invitation for horrible people to find them. They could walk right up to them and call them by name as the kids have provided so much information online. Aside from catching these predators, I would hope it would be a wake up call to both the kids and the parents that put computers in their children's rooms and basically let them open the door to strangers who can harm them. Please consider northern NJ on one of your future stings.
I think Dateline is doing the public a great service with this show. i find it to be very very very informative and it shows the public that there really are real people that are out here preying on our children. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Every week, someone asks us where the female predators are. Here is our attempt to answer that question: http://insidedateline.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/02/20/45825.aspx
I think this show is great. I have a 16 year old daughter. SHE LIVES IN ANOTHE STATE. I JUST GOT DONE TALKING TO HER ONLINE. I THINK PARENTS SHOULD ALSO MONITOR THEIR KIDS CLOSER. THESE GUYS WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVE IN PRISON. I HAVE BEEN TO PRISON AND I CAN TELL YOU FIRST HAND THEY DONT TREAT PREDITORS NICE
My wife and I watch your show, To Catch a Preditor, every chance we get. We think it is a very good show. Keep up the good work.
hi i like the show i just had a ? about it it just seems a little sexest that you guys just put out on tv that guys are the only people trying to have sex with under age kids online id like to see females do it to + you make it seem like to females that guys are the only ones getting caught meeting under age people on line to have sex and they have nothing to worry about. so please shows both male and females gettin caught. thanks
I am all for getting this scum off the streets but enough is enough with the program. I thought it was an interesting show the first time it was on. But how much of this can you watch. Let the police do their job instead of broadcasting a show that appears to smack of entrapment.
To Marilyn in Indiana who complained that they're eating dinner and all of a sudden NBC is talking about oral sex. Here's a suggestion.... CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!! Better yet, how about turning the TV off when you have dinner and do something new like TALK to each other and catch up on the days events. Hmmmm good idea?? It's people like you that get under my skin because your head is so far in the sand, stuff like this will happen to YOUR kids because you have no idea sick men like this exist so you don't warn your children. Take a big whiff and wake up and smell the coffee lady!
I love your show. Believe it or not I am a professional who works with sex offenders. I watch the show to see if there are ways through the show that I can possibly help my clients while learning more about the client and online predators. Keep up the good work.
The show is Great but I do think that it should now be its own show called "to catch a predator" and Dateline should come back and report on other events going on.
In response to the "thank you chris" comment. every tuesday i search for something to watch, and again with nothing on I click onto your show. While at first I believe this show may have brought to light a serious problem with seriously twisted people. It is now evident that the show is an all to sobering reflection of what this country craves. It must be a terible feeling knowing that your brodcasting career has ended at this. I truly feel sorry for all the people who weekly tune to this show, there obsession with this topic is just as perverted as the men portrayed. By all means make the public aware but stop thriving on it. For god sake we all know the worlds full of terible people. move on,find something else to report on. mabye even something productive.
I am a 22 year old college student who works closely at a center for Domestic Violence for women and children. There are too many cases and situations that need to be handled by our system without setting people up, as this show does. If the decoy is not 14, in actuality 19, how have the men committed a crime? Wouldnt it be the same to issue a speeding ticket on a road with a "fake speed limit sign" placed over the "real" speed limit sign? I am saddened that a field I was one passionate about, journalism, has taken a turn to "produce" news, instead of reporting what actually occurs. My new interest is law and hopefully one day everyone will receive fair treatment, as this is obviously not the case with this constructed show.
I have watched each and every episode. All I can think about are the grown men who seduced me when I was a young teen girl (13-16). The men were City employees (Recreation Center Leaders) that worked for the City's Recreation Centers. The men were in their late 20's and 30's and knew better. As a teen, I was flattered that older men found me attractive and sexy; just like many other teen girls (& boys). Little did I know (NAIVE)! They were pedophiles and at that time, I did not even know that such a word (or action) existed. Thank you (NBC, Chris Hansen and Perverted Justice) for this show. It's crazy how many adults mess with kids and no one wants to address it. It's one of the biggest reasons that people have drug/alcohol addiction issues (because someone messed with them that shouldn't have). I hope you start addressing incest next. If we could stop incest (& the pedophiles), maybe we could stop the increase of STDs/HIV in children & teens. Really, if someone opposes this type of programming, I have to question them and their motive(s). Keep it up, NBC. We appreciate knowing who is doing this (or trying to do this) to our children. They need to leave our children alone.
I wanted to know if Dateline is doing anything to follow-up with "help" for these people. We all know they exsist, we all know they need help,, but what is Dateline doing to help with this problem we have in our country in the way of professional help ,, or is this just a ratings bonanza for the program,,and who cares what actually happens after jail time is servered??
We want to thank Dateline, Chris Hansen and Perverted Justice for opening our eyes to the problem of online predators. Keep up the great work folks and if you ever need a house in So. Calif. we'd be glad to help!
This series is crap. The first time was news. After that it's just more exploitation of adult subjects during children's viewing time. How are you guys any better than the scum you trap?
Hi, I have a big concern! I have an ex-boyfriend who I dropped immediately because he likes getting on the net and he likes looking at naked girls who keep getting younger and younger. He's 45 and these girls (when I left him) were around 13-15 yrs.old. I really don't want to see any little girls get hurt over this sick pervert. Who do I talk to or get someone to look into this?
hello, my name is brandon from kansas and i'd just like to say that i really appreciate what it is that you guys do. from chris hansen to preverted justice and especially the young ladies and gentlemen who put themselves in those situations. i have young nieces and they are growing up so fast and they love the internet and i don't know what i would do if someone tried to contact them in anyway. so again thank you all for your hard work and everything you do. i have been watching the show for a while now and i admire what you are doing to help families and youth everywhere. now as far as this particular episode i can't begin to comprehend the lies and stories some of these guys come up with. especially this abdalla character, i mean seriously, i truly believe the penalties for these people should be as harsh as murder, because in so many ways the men who aren't caught kill the innocence of young boys and girls everyday. keep up the good work everybody! sincerely yours, brandon
I hope you are enjoying ruining people's lives. Have you ever followed up to find out how many people commit suicide after being exposed on your show. This is the modern-day equivalent of bear bating. These people need help...there are other ways for them to be forced to seek it. These people are obviously sick...but so is Dateline.
