Now, three months later, while many questions remain unanswered, "Dateline's" Ann Curry reports on the international murder investigation surrounding this man of mystery on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 7 PM, ET.

Curry sits down for an emotional interview with Litvinenko's wife, Marina, and investigates the events that may have led to the poisoning of Litvinenko and the events that have followed both in London and Russia.

In addition, the broadcast includes exclusive interviews with the Italian man Litvinenko met in the sushi restaurant and the Kremlin's archenemy, Boris Berezovsky. For the first time, Americans will hear from all the potential suspects involved in the murder.

The sushi killed him.
This is only one murder that has emerged from the murky underworld of espionage. Imagine how many others we don't know about. Scary.
Some say Putin decides everything in Russia, in one hand this is a semi-truth but Putin himself is only a marionette - a representative puppet of the former KGB-masterminds and generals who are in power in todays Kremlin. That system is so corrupt and ego-centric and does not know neither care what the other hand says or does. These men have a unipolar view of the world and if they could they would conquer the world at once. So cynical are their minds that a few months prior to the deaths of Litvinenko and the freedom-journalist Politkovskaja they even let the Russian parliament to openly wrote a "law to allow" Russian secret services FSB-KGB to persecute, victimize and eliminate persons all over the world the Kremlin and it's generals don not like.
Interesting comments... Why noone talks that Litvinenko converted to Islam, that he supported Islamic rebels groups in Russia who exploded apartment buidling in Russia which killed hundreds of people in Moscow and blamed this to Russain Government? I am sure you are not even aware these happend but this was Russian Sep 11 which of course no one cares about, right ? Becuase those who killed Russians - they are not called terrorists they are called freedom fighters, right ? How many more Charlies are brainwashed by mainstream media and not capable of critical independent thinking ?
Litvinenko had a Muslim funeral attended by many Chechen seperatists. He ate his own death to embarass Russia, and drive a wedge between Her and the UK/West. Now think of this, the man consumed a substance so hot and in such quantity as a 350w light bulb going down. It would have burned his mouth off. This idiot was no spy, He had no state secrets. He died a Muslim Martyr death. The law that allows for Russians to leave Russia and deal with threats to the state are similar to MI-6, CIA, GSG9, Mossad, etc. If you get in the game and fail, the costs are exceptionally high. Now, relax yourselves. You will note that Britain has not decalred a War with Russia. There are a lot of people engaging in unhelpful provocations. Now if you would like some professional analysis from a guy who has been there and done that, I will help you along. Deniability is key to an operation. This was made to make Putin look an ass. It failed. To profesionals, it looks like a Chechen counter-op with help from the AQ Khan network. If the islamists can continue to divide and counquer Russia from the west, this seperation will serve their assymetrical ends. If on the other hand, we play through this hole and move along, world energy markets can be remade that dries up radical islamist funding. Russia is building those pipelines now, around nations that stole product and didn't pay. (Do you speak Russian? Have you lived in East Berlin when there was a wall? I have.) Now, please go enlist. America needs patriots who care, and it is obvious you do. I am retired and they wont take my fossil ass back. Now good soul! It is good that you watch and educate yourself. That makes you almost 1/100 in our country. My admiration for you is great. I would love a world where none of these things or agencies existed. It is not realistic. I wish we could effectively wage peace and prosperity. Now my good friend. Russia is really at about 1800 in our revolution. She has been brutally dragged to the 1st rank by the horrors of the 20th Century. If you would remember that time in our Nation, the founding fathers Still took turns occupying chairs of power. Washington surrounded himself with patriots He could trust. Putin has done much the same. It is simply survival skills in a revolution. The man is a Patriot and Russian nationalist. They need less lecture and more investment. For 15 years people froze in the winter as what was left of the former state decayed into the abyss. They are coming out of a great depression economically. No good man, it is we here who are threatening a Cuban Missile Crisis in reverse by deploying systems near their borders. It would seem that there are still people that have not put their Soviet souvenirs into the museum. Now, with any study of Orbital Mechanics, please tell me exactly how a missile shot at America will go over Poland? Then we can reminisce about clicking pseudo-spies.
If you look at the surface you will not know the true story, the kgb as well as all spy networks do a very good job at misdirection. While you look here they are over somewhere else doing what they intended without being noticed, usually right in the open. For the best place to hide is right in front of you.
I find it very hard to believe Putin et al had anything to do with this man's death. I believe Putin is very capable of pulling a kgb-style murder, but this man's murder is too sloppy to have been a kgb(ex-kgb) op. If the Putin/kgb/et al had done this, they would have covered their tracks better. Given what we see happening in other parts of the world, and this man's background, it's seems likely his death has to do with the Chechen conflict. As others have stated, this angle has not been investigated very well.
I'm glad that a in depth story was attempted in explaining the story. However, I thought the interviewing of Marina was awful. She barely was able to tell how she really felt. It seemed that words were being thrown at her. I felt the story was portrayed as an entertainment tool instead of the telling the facts. I was disappointed mostly because the story wasn't being told by the people involved. Oh well, that is television.
There is in fact one theory that may not have been explored. The killed russian spy's wife might have been blackmailed secretely if she had relatives left in Russia. If that was the case she had to choose between her beloved husband and her family. She seemed honest, but if this theory is correct, she is also a victim and her tears might have not been faked, even if what lies under is.
