an outragous story ; the best thing i've seen on any news show in years ; cloney at his best . A followup story on what happens next would be a great feat for dateline to undertake as this was done so well , ; what leadership cloney has shone, a man living a leagacy ;; makes me want to get involved what can i do ?
Many thanks to NBC, Ms. Curry and crew, for airing this program. I extend my deep gratitude to Mr. Clooney and Mr. Prendergast, for shining a hot, bright light on the people of Sudan in their quest for peace. What can we do? Visit the websites listed, and learn more about the history of this conflict; sign the petition(s), call/email/write our elected leaders to let them know this issue is important to us; over the weekend ask people if they saw Dateline, and start a conversation; donate a few of those hard-earned Christmas dollars to support advocacy; join with your faith community, and may thoughtful prayer lead to these simple actions. "Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable."
- Sidney J. Harris
Thanks to George Clooney and John Prendergast for their work and Anne Curry for getting NBC to cover it. Please add Water for Sudan, www.waterforsudan.org to your supporting projects for Southern Sudan. Founder Salva Dut, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan now an American citizen based in Rochester NY, is a quiet leader bringing fresh water wells to remote villages in Souther Sudan since 2005. In fact, he's there now preparing for what will hopefully be another peaceful drilling season.
